Hi, I'm Nikkeria!
Certified Postpartum Doula (CPD) and Professional Doula

I grew up in a small town in South Georgia, and when someone gave birth, the village usually showed up to care for them and the new baby. I loved seeing this especially within my own family, and I've always felt called to supporting women and birthing people. At 8, I decided that I was going to be an OB-GYN (funny how things change!!). As an adult, I learned more about public health and its ability to have a greater impact on communities; therefore, I went on to earn a B.S in Public Health with special interests in maternal and infant health.
While I was in college, I started working as a night nanny for newly postpartum parents, and then I learned about doulas. Shortly after, I attended my first doula training to officially become a doula. I really wanted to show up and hold space for birthing people during one of the most vulnerable and transformative times in their lives. I've grown to recognize that in the midst of wanting a healthy baby and healthy parent (which we ALL want!!), our medical system has forgotten to honor the birthing person by listening and respecting their choices and their bodies.
My public health background and special interests in maternal health have taught me that that respectful listening, collaborative care, advocacy, and education are powerful tools in creating a more supportive and empowering experience even when births don't go as planned. I believe that this approach doesn't just change the birthing experience; it can change the trajectory of a person's overall health.
I offer compassion, informed guidance, and an unwavering presence—because everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I see you. I am with you, and I am so glad you made your way here!
When I am not doing birth-work, I am working as an Adoption Coordinator at an adoption agency.
I am spending time with my husband and our two sweet kitties, Simba and Jade. I love to bake! I also enjoy traveling and try to do so as often as I can. When the weather is pleasant, I love being outside and going on nature walks or hiking! I also enjoy movies, mostly thrillers!
